Indi & Cold — Basque Soul, Natural Beauty. Since 1991.
Indi & Cold was born in San Sebastián, in the heart of the Basque Country in northern Spain — a city renowned for its history, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant culture. Brothers Diego and Gonzalo Santaolalla began their journey in fashion in 1991 through two separate companies — Indiwoman and Cold Alaska — before joining forces in 2012 to create the brand as it is known today. Under the creative direction of Cristina Villar, another San Sebastián native, Indi & Cold has grown to be present in over 21 countries while staying true to the roots and values that defined it from the beginning.
The aesthetic is unmistakably Indi & Cold — a relaxed retro chic inspired by nature, with beautiful natural fabrics, expressive artisanal prints, rich colour palettes, and handcrafted details that reward a closer look. Each collection is a work of art, designed to last well beyond the season.
Sustainability is not a marketing strategy at Indi & Cold — it is a way of life. Around 50% of production takes place in Europe, primarily in Portugal, with the remainder crafted by long-standing artisan partners in Morocco and India, audited to the highest ethical and environmental standards. The brand uses natural and sustainable fibres, vegetable dyes, and responsible production processes at every stage. They are a certified B Corporation, and their mission is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Indi & Cold is, at its heart, a project by women for women — with a team made up of 98% women and a deep commitment to supporting the education and empowerment of women around the world.
For women who believe that true style comes from authenticity, nature, and a slow and conscious approach to getting dressed, Indi & Cold feels like coming home.
